Private Lessons
Voice Lessons
All
lessons are recorded and given to each student! Customized vocal warm ups are also given to
each student. We work on breathing techniques, vocal strengthening
techniques, range broadening techniques, performance skills and we sing
songs of the student's choice. Advanced students can also work
on songwriting and studio preparation. All private students have the
opportunity to perform at our Showcases and other performances throughout the year.
Piano Lessons
Piano lessons are for beginning, intermediate, and advanced level piano students, ages 5 and
up. Our teaching focuses
on learning to read music, rhythm, ear training and proper piano
performance technique.
Students are encouraged to experiment with
all styles of music. Each student will have the opportunity to perform in
our showcases and other perfomances thorughout the year.
Guitar and Bass Lessons
At JA Vocal Music, we offer weekly private guitar and bass lessons to students of all skill levels. Lessons in Classical and Pop/Rock genres are offered. The lesson plans include a balance of theory, sight reading and repertoire appropriate to the student's level and musical ability. Each student will have the opportunity to perform in our bi-annual showcases.
Acting Lessons
On-line Lessons
JA Vocal Music now offers on-line lessons for those that are not local to the San Fernando Valley area. Using the video chat program, Skype, students can now have voice, guitar, bass or acting lessons over the internet. On-line students can also participate in the showcase performances, although the student will be responsible for their own transportation and lodging. Lesson options and prices are the same as in person private lessons.
Advanced Artists can also take advantage of the on-line lessons by having songwriting sessions on-line via Skype.

- 30-Minute Lessons (Ages 5-7) $35 each

Group Classes
Music for Mommy & Me
(Birth-3) This 45-minute class surrounds babies and toddlers with melody, rhythm and song. Through singing, dancing, tapping and shaking, we develop listening skills and early musicality while having fun. Adult participation is required. Moms, dads, grandparents or nannies are welcome.
$15 each class
Minnie Melodies
(Ages 4-7) This is a fun 45-minute class
created for young singers. We work on fun, easy warm-ups, play vocal games, and
work on children's songs including easy dance and hand movements. This is a
great class to introduce your child to music and to help them understand
the fundamentals of music; including music notation and terminology. The Minnie
Melodies perform 2 songs at each Showcase.
$15 each class
Musical Theater Class
(Ages 8 & Up) This musical theater based class was created for singers that are interested in singing, acting and dancing. It is a 1-hour class. We work on vocal technique, acting skills and simple dance routines. The Musical Theater Class performs at each Showcase.

Acting for Camera & Stage
(Ages 8 & Up) This 1-hour class was created for those interested in learning how to act on camera and on stage. Students will learn how the audition process works and will work on scenes designed for television commercials, television sitcoms and movies as well as plays from various styles and time periods. Each student will be given the opportunity to perform a scene or monologue at the showcase performances.
Studio & Stage Performance Workshop
(Teens & Young Adults) This class has been created for the advanced performer who wants to break into the music industry. This is a 1-hour class. We work on studio singing techniques and stage presence. There are also lessons about how to work your way into the music industry. Students perform in front of their peers at the class and each performer will have the opportunity to sing 1 solo at each Showcase performance.
